John Bollen is a graduate of the Royal College of Art in London. He developed the Simpla table and the Tutor table. While each design is unique, they both reflect Bollens ability to deliver elegant answers to complex demands for multi-functional furnishings.
Over his extensive career, Bollen has gained a profound understanding of engineering, construction and production. His mechanical mindset, obsession with perfection and fascination with minimalistic, multi-functional furniture permeates his professional life. Bollen’s relentless drive and talent for streamlined, timeless designs with space-saving solutions has earned him a reputation for being one of the most innovative furniture designers of the 21st century.
When he’s not busy creating the next award-winning design, his other keen interest is soul music, mainly rhythm & blues. In fact, Bollen is the proud owner of probably one of the largest collection of blues music in the United Kingdom.
