John Bollen was born in 1949 and graduated in 1975 from the Royal College of Art in London. After many years of manufacturing employment, John Bollen decided to move forward in his creative/design career and developed the Simpla table after thorough studies and prototyping. Due to its simplicity and skilful design, the Simpla table won a silver medal in the "Best of NeoCon" competition in Chicago in June 2001.

Over the years John Bollen has gained a profound knowledge of engineering as well as solidmanufacturing skills and is now looking ahead to develop many new design concepts for HOWE.

John Bollen lives in Yorkshire with his wife and 3 children. Besides design, John's keen interest is Rhythm & Blues. He holds probably one of the largest collections of Blues records in the UK.
